Workout Standards

Race Rules

  1. Prior to starting, film the barbell to be used so the load can be seen clearly. All video submissions must be uncut and unedited in order to accurately display the performance. Shoot the video from an angle so all movements can be clearly seen meeting the movement standards.
  2. Your timer should be in view at all times during the filming of the race.
  3. You may submit multiple results prior to the deadline (July 31 at 8:00pm EDT).
  4. There will be a 30 second penalty for each incomplete (missing) repetition.
  5. There will be a 10 second penalty for each repetition that does not fully meet the movement standards described below.

 

Movement Standards

Squat Clean

In this movement, the barbell goes from the ground to the front rack position with the athlete passing through a full squat position while the barbell is racked on the shoulders.  The full squat position is achieved when the crease of the hips passes below the top of the knees. The lift is completed when the athlete comes to a standing position with knees and hips fully extended with the barbell in the front rack position.

Bar Facing Burpee

The athlete must descend to a prone position by jumping both feet out simultaneously. The athlete must make chest contact with the ground at the bottom of the repetition. At the bottom of the repetition, the athlete must be facing and perpendicular to the barbell. The athlete must then return to the standing position by jumping both feet in simultaneously. The athlete will then perform a jump over the barbell. The jump must be initiated by both feet simultaneously and the athlete must land on the ground on the other side of the barbell with both feet simultaneously.
