The Berlin Throwdown 2019 Qualifier 2 is: find your one rep max snatch and bench press within ten minutes.


At the call of 3-2-1-Go, the athlete may proceed to the bar for his first lift. The bar may be preloaded for the first attempt. The athlete may get help from his judge, spouse and/or mom loading the bar. No pets though. You may use one bar for each lift (one for snatch, one for bench press).

The athlete can perform the lifts in whatever order.

The bench press will start and end with arms fully extended. The barbell must make contact with the chest. During the repetition, both feet must remain in contact with the floor and glutes must remain in contact with the bench. You may/should use a spotter, but if the spotter touches any part of the athlete or equipment, the repetition will not count. That also counts for un- and reracking the bar. You may grip as narrow/wide as you like. Using a deficit bench is not allowed.


The snatch will start with both plates making contact with the floor and will end with the athlete standing up straight, the bar locked out and in control overhead. The athlete may use any style of snatch.


This workout has a ten minute timecap.


Your score is the heaviest successfull bench press and heaviest successfull snatch within ten minutes. To get your final score, add weights of athlete A and athlete B.
