2015 Hot August Throwdown

  • Sunday August 16, 2015
  • Hosted by Ganbatte
  • One division, intermediate teams of one male and one female
  • First heat will start at 9:00am
  • The day will consist of 2 WODs and a floater WOD
  • Cost is $95 per team


This will be an ideal event for intermediate athletes looking for competitive experience and fun!

WODs are listed below, so athletes can practice and train for this event.

Each athlete will receive a competition shirt

Ganbatte is located in building 4. From San Fernando Rd. drive to the back of the parking lot, down the ally and it will be on the right.

There will be space for athletes, between heats, in the parking lot outside of Ganbatte. Bring your EZ Ups and folding chairs.

Parking will be available at Ganbatte. Additional parking is available down Chapman St. 

Athletes should bring their own chalk for the event.

We will email you all the heat schedules & information you need prior to the event. 


WOD 1: 7 Minute Time Cap

Follow the Leader

Partner A will start on the row, while partner B rests. Partner A will then move to the front rack hold, while partner B rows. Partner A will then move to the burpee box jump overs, while partner B holds the front rack. Each partner will continue to move forward in the order the movements are listed.  

The length of the "hold" will be determined by the amount of time it takes the other teammate to complete assigned reps. Reps will not count if the other partner is not performing the assigned hold. Time will end when Partner B completes the KB Swings. Partner B will not perform the hold at the top of the deadlift.

20 Calorie Row ---> Hold Front Rack Position (115/75) ---> 15 Burpee Box Jump Overs (20") ---> Hold a Hang From Pull Up Bar ---> 30 KB Swings (53/35) ---> Hold Top of the Deadlift (115/75)

WOD 2: 13 Minute Time Cap

One partner works while the other partner rests. Reps can be divided between teammates as they choose.

100 Wall Balls (20/14)

6 Rope Climbs

30 Squat Cleans (115/75)

40 Toes to Bar

30 Shoulder to Overhead (115/75)

40 Pull Ups

100 Double Unders
