Event description

Welcome to our annual comp the Iron Cowboy Partner Shootout. We are excited to get everyone back for a warmer weather event this year, as we typically hold this comp around January.  We will continue to update the event as more information rolls out but here is what we know so far. 


- 2 day comp saturday and sunday 

- 6 workouts total 

- teams of 2 M/M or F/F pairs 

- Rx and scaled divisions this year! 

- workouts will be released periodically leading up to the event

-refunds are available until May 15th! 

Recommended movement standards for going RX are at the very bottom of the page. 

- substitutions due to a partner dropping out etc are allowed, just notify us asap. IF your partner is not the same shirt size etc as your previous partner's shirt orders cannot be changed. 

- Event location will be at Stratton Myers field/amphitheater in Green River, WY. There will be areas where you can set up a tent etc. on the concrete, it is not permitted that you set up a tent in the field due to water lines being damaged in the past. Restrooms will be available, and plenty of sanitation to go around. 

- we will be hosting a fundraiser 5k the morning of the event to the public. If you have people traveling with you they are welcome to participate with a waiver and entry fee donation.

All entry fees for the 5k will go towards sponsoring kids in need for our Summer CF kids program. 

- we want to run a fun and safe event. 


RX athletes should be able to perform the following movements but not limited to: If this is not you, we suggest you strongly consider signing up for the scaled division. 

We will let athletes scale the workouts if needed, but you cannot beat a team who does the workout RX. even if Rx does 1 rep and scaled version finishes the workout. Just like the open. 

You can expect most if not all movement standards held in Crossfit Open to hold true here.

- bar/ring muscle-ups 

- chest to bar pull-ups 

-handstand walk ( 10 ft increment) 

-Thruster 135/95 

-deadlift 315/225

- toes to bar 

- smile while in pain 

-clean 135/95 ( MINIMUM)
