Onsite Competition for Individuals

Event description

The FirePower Youth FitFest Competition welcomes athletes ages 8-17 to come and test their fitness in a competitive environment and see how they compare to their peers in a functional fitness competition. 

Age Divisions

Boys 14-17 yrs old (as of Jan 1/17)
Girls 14-17 yrs old (as of Jan 1/17)
Boys 10-13 yrs old (as of Jan 1/17)
Girls 10-13 yrs old (as of Jan 1/17)
Mixed 8 and 9 yrs old (as of Jan 1/17)

All athletes will compete in a minimum of 3 workouts over the day and will test their abilities in a combination of weightlifting, gymnastics and mono-structural movements.

Online Qualifier Workout

All FirePower Youth FitFest registered athletes between the ages of 10 – 17 MUST complete the Online Qualifier Workout.

Athletes have until Monday, January 9th @ 8:00pm to submit their scores.

If an athlete is unable to complete the Qualifier workout, they will be automatically placed in the Intermediate Division. If an athlete is unable to perform the movements as prescribed, they will be placed in the Intermediate Division and can complete the ONLINE Qualifier Workout, intermediate version.

After the score review process, all athletes will be assigned their respective Division into RX or Intermediate. The Qualifier workout is also used to identify heat assignments.

The ONLINE Qualifier score will not be used towards your score for the competition, taking place on January 15th, 2017. All athletes will start over with no score on the day of the competition.

All scores are to be submitted to facebook.com/youthfitfest for review by Monday, January 9th at 8:00pm. Please note a video may be requested for review and must adhere to the following guidelines:

• State Name & Age
• Must show all movements in the frame
• Must show the weight on the bar
• Must include a clock or timer in the frame
• State score at the end


Scoring: For Time: Fastest is Better | Tiebreaker: Ranked from Fastest to Slowest Time

With a 12 Minute Clock: Ages 14-17 - 1000m Row for time Ages 10-13 - 750m Row for Time Ages 8 and 9 - 500m Row for Time Once Row is complete, proceed to Wod 1b!

Scoring: For Repetitions: More is Better | Tiebreaker: If athletes are tied, althete with the slower row time will place higher.

Immediately following the row, and with the remaining time on the 12 min clock, complete: AMRAP Power Snatch Toes 2 Bar 2/2, 4/4, 6/6, 8/8, 10/10, 11/11, 12/12, etc... After the round of 10, continue to add 1 rep of each every round. **weights per division** 14-17 RX – 95/65lbs 14-17 Int. – 75/55lbs 10-13 RX – 65/55lbs 10-13 Int. – 45-35lbs All 8-9 – 15lbs ** Scaling for Toes 2 bar** 14-17 Int – Hanging Knee Raises 10-13 Int – Hanging Knee Raises All 8-9 – Hanging Knee Raises
