British Continental Cup Qualifiers

Event description

Entry for the Continental Cup qualifiers is now open!

British Functional Fitness Championships 2020

Sadly, earlier this year, it was necessary to cancel the British Functional Fitness Championships (BFFC) during the online qualification stage due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. Similarly, the iF3 announced the cancellation of the World Championships in Canada shortly after.

Continental Cup

Following the cancellation of the World Championships, the iF3 announced a replacement competition, the Continental Cup. An entirely online competition which will take place in 3 stages:

  • National federations will select up to 3M & 3F athletes to compete in the Continental Cup
  • 11-13 December: athletes compete online in the provisional round against other athletes from their continent in a 2 hour live streamed event
  • 19 December: top 3M & 3F athletes from each continent proceed to compete in the final round of online competition

Find out more about the Continental Cup on the iF3 website, here.

Qualification process for British Athletes

The FRF(UK) will be selecting athletes to advance to the Preliminary Round of the Continental Cup through an online qualification process.

Athletes will complete 4 tests at their local functional fitness facility (or their home gym). The tests will be the same as those released for the BFFC earlier in the year – see below if you had entered the BFFC before cancellation.

The following divisions are open for entry:

Open Female (18+)
Open Male (18+)

Your age must be correct for your division as at 31 December 2020 and you may only enter if you are legally resident in the UK.

I'm a masters athlete, can I take part?

The The Continental Cup only has an Open division but anyone above the age of 18 can take part. Just be aware that there won't be any scaled options for any of the tests.

The qualification tests

You will have from 23 October until 11.59pm on Sunday 15 November 2020 to submit your score for all four tests and a link to your videos* (which may be 'hidden' but must be publicly viewable from the link you submit). No late entries will be permitted under any circumstances.

The leaderboard will not be visible during the qualification period, this is to promote fair competition and prevent athletes from “gaming” the leaderboard.

No adapted or 'scaled' versions of tests will be offered.
