UPDATE 5.27.2020

If you were already signed up, please check your email for details and instruction if you can no longer participate!

UPDATE 5.1.2020

Attention Competitors, Judges, and Volunteers:

The staff of Sandy Lake CrossFit has been keeping a close eye on all the updates provided by the State and local governments regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. As of May 1st, Governor Abbott's Strikeforce to Open Texas has opened Malls, Movie Theaters, Restaurants, and Retail stores at 25% capacity. Unfortunately, it has also prohibited Gyms from operating until at least "Mid-May". We are still determined to host Muscle Madness on a date To Be Determined. In the meantime we will be adjusting our place holder date from May 2nd to June 27th. Again, this is a placeholder. Our commitment to hosting Muscle Madness is full, and we will determine and communicate our competition date just as soon as it is safe and appropriate to do so. Thank you all for your patience. Please stay safe, stay healthy, and get Pumped: The Madness is coming!

UPDATE 3.27.2020

We're changing the date as a placeholder NOT as an official date change. We simply don't want any of our stored information to disappear after 3.28.2020 passes. We will continue to update all athletes regarding the status and new date chosen just as soon as the City of Coppell and Dallas County warrant us to host the event. In the meantime....KEEP TRAINING!

UPDATE 3.19.2020

??? In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Texas Governor Greg Abbot has established an Executive Order prohibiting the gathering of any groups larger than 10 people and the closing of all gyms throughout the entire state. The conclusion of this Executive Order is scheduled for April 3, though there always exists the possibility it may be extended.

Muscle Madness will therefore be postponed until a date To Be Determined. We will continue keeping a close eye on all restrictions, and plan to reschedule Muscle Madness as soon as we are able! Keep Training! ?

Muscle Madness is a 2-person partner competition which will be held on March 28, 2020 at Sandy Lake CrossFit.

There will be both RX and Scaled Divisions for Male/Male, Female/Female, and Male/Female teams.

The competition guarantees at least 3 workouts for all divisions. Workouts to be announced prior to competition.

Prize packages will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place finishers in each division. All participants who register before March 15th will receive a tshirt.

No refunds will be issued should a team be unable to participate for any reason. Alternate team members will be permitted to compete in the entire event should an athlete need to back out. If making adjustments prior to March 15, team names and shirt sizes can be changed as well but not after that date.

RX Division Guidelines: Male and Female athletes participating in the RX division should be capable of performing the following movements in a variety of WOD combinations…and maybe be ready for a couple of surprises.

Snatch (135 lbs, 95 lbs)
Clean & Jerk (185 lbs, 125 lbs)
Skill proficiency is moderate to good in: C2B Pull Ups, Double Unders & Toes to Bar
One or more athletes are able to perform high skill movements (i.e. Muscle Ups, Handstand Walks, etc.)

Scaled Division Guidelines: When it comes to the Scaled division, Male and Female athletes should be prepared to perform the following movements in a variety of WOD combinations…and maybe be ready for a couple of surprises as well.

Snatch (95 lbs, 65 lbs)
Clean & Jerk (135 lbs, 95 lbs)
Skill proficiency is fair or may not be able to string sets of: Pull Ups & Toes to Bar

*** These loads and skills are recommendations. We reserve the right to change or program heavier if desired.
