2020 Horsetown Throwdown

Onsite Competition for Teams

Event description

CrossFit Pandemic is proud to introduce the first annual Horsetown Throwdown!

This competition will consist of 2-person teams (M/M or F/F). There will be Novice, Intermediate, as well as RX divisions. The competition will consist of 3 events + a floater workout that you will sign up for upon arrival. We will be capping this competition at 50 teams total.

Event 1

5 Minutes for Max reps

Minute 1) Wall Balls 

Minute 2) Box Jump Overs

Minute 3) Push Press

Minute 4) Sumo Deadlift High Pulls

Minute 5) Bar Facing Burpees


RX: Wallball 20/14#, box jump overs, 30/24", push press & Sumo deadlift high pull 115/75#

Intermediate: Wallball 20/14#, box jump overs 24/20", push press and sumo deadlift high pull 95/65#

Novice: Wallball, 14/10#, box step overs 24/20", push press & sumo deadlift high pull 75/55#, may step over the barbell on bar facing burpees.



Athlete 1 will go through the entire workout. After minute 5, athlete 2 will then go through the entire workout. Score is total reps.


For Time

80/60 Calorie Ski Erg (WOD 2A)

60 Alternating Dumbbell Snatches

40 Dumbbell Single Arm Overhead Lunges

20 Bar Muscle Ups 

Time Cap: 10 Minutes

RX: 50/35# Dumbbells

Intermediate: 50/35# Dumbbells, Toes to bar instead of Muscle ups 

Novice: 40/25# Dumbbells, lunges can be done with dumbbell in front rack or on your shoulder. Knees to waist instead of muscle ups.


This workout will have two scores and be equally weighted. Part 1 is an 80/60 Calorie Ski Erg for time. Once athletes have completed that, they will perform the rest of the workout for an additional score. The full workout will have a time cap of 10 Minutes. If your team doesn't finish the workout, each rep remaining (once time has been called) will be added as an additional second.


Event 3

4 Minute AMRAP

20/15 Calorie Concept 2 Bike Erg sprint

Immediately followed by...

Speed Clean Ladder

RX: 185/125#, 205/135#, 225/145#, 245/155#

Intermediate: 115/75#, 135/85#, 155/105#, 185/125#

Novice: 95/55#, 115/65#, 125/75#, 135/85#


Athlete 1 will do a 20/15 Calorie buy in and then go through the ladder. Once they have finished or can't lift a weight, athlete 2 will do the 20/15 calorie buy in and then go through the ladder. With time remaining, athlete 2 will do max reps with the final barbell. Score will be the total weight lifted.



3 Minute AMRAP

Max D-Ball Cleans 

Max Calorie Row 

RX: 150/100#

Intermediate: 100/70#

Novice: 80/60#


One athlete will start on the rower and one athlete will start on the D-Ball cleans. Athletes may switch movements at any point within the workout. There will be two scores for this workout that will be equally weighted. The total calories accumulated on the rower as well as the amount of D-Ball cleans successfully done.
