Event description

The Ventura Battle of the Boxes is Ventura County's longest running team fitness competition. 

This is a 4 person co-ed team (2 male / 2 female) event, with AdvancedIntermediate, and Masters (38+) divisions. 

The Intermediate division will be programmed for a true intermediate athlete. The weights and gymnastics movements will be scaled accordingly. Your team should be able to complete double under, kipping pull-ups, and other similar level movements. But remember, not all team members necessarily have to do all the movements. 

For Masters, the weights will be the same as the Intermediate division, but there will be more difficult gymnastics movements (i.e. chest to bar pull-ups vs. regular pull-ups). 

Athletes in the Advanced division should be able to do 80% of their gym's programmed workouts as Rx'd. Weights will be at the level of the programming in the Open, and gymnastics movements will be at a level below Regionals. 

All of the workouts (2 main WODS + a floater) will be announced prior to the event. You will be able to switch divisions if necessary up until a few days before the event. 

The Battle is equipped by Forge Fitness and will be held at the Ventura County Fairgrounds in a 19,000+ sq foot facility, with a massive athlete area just outside. 

There will be food and drink available for purchase at the event, as well as many different vendors with the best gear, supplements, and equipment (check the Facebook page for updates). 

All athletes will receive an event t-shirt and other swag from our sponsors. We look forward to seeing you at The Battle!
