Event description

The Ventura Battle of the Boxes is Ventura County's longest running team fitness competition. 


This is a 4 person co-ed team (2 male / 2 female) event, with Advanced, Intermediate, and 2 Masters divisions (combined age 140+ and 190+), as well as a BEGINNER division! 

The Beginner division is for a real beginner. If you have been doing for less than 6 months, then this is the division for you. Movements will be simple and straightforward, and everyone will be able to participate.

The Intermediate division will be programmed for a true intermediate athlete. The weights and gymnastics movements will be scaled accordingly. Your team should be able to complete double unders, kipping pull-ups, and other similar level movements. But remember, not all team members necessarily have to do all the movements. 

For Masters, the weights will be the same as the Intermediate division, but there will be more difficult gymnastics movements (i.e. chest to bar pull-ups vs. regular pull-ups). 

Athletes in the Advanced division should be able to do 80% of their gym's programmed workouts as Rx'd. Weights will be at the level of the programming in the Open, and gymnastics movements will be at a level below Regionals. 

All of the workouts (2 main WODS + a floater) will be announced prior to the event. You will be able to switch divisions if necessary up until a few days before the event. 

The Battle will be held at Precision CrossFit in Agoura Hills.

All athletes will receive an event t-shirt, and there will be CASH PRIZES for the winners!

This workout will be completed with a 14 minute running clock. One pair (men or women) will go first and have 4 minutes to each establish a max clean. They will then transition directly into 3 minutes of max reps of their division's gymnastic movement. 

At the 7 minute mark, the next pair will begin their work on the barbell.
