Event description

The biggest functional fitness event in Oregon is now in WA too! The annual Gobbler Gauntlet is teams of 3 athletes, and is held indoor at the state fairgrounds in Puyallup. Expect 3-4 challenging workouts and an exciting winner-take-all finale!

In Oregon this event is well represented with 55 different boxes present last year, and around 550 athletes. No pets allowed in the facility, no refunds (but we allow you to get credit up to two weeks before the event). Grab 2 friends and get ready for the most fun you have had at a competition all year!

Scaled teams do push ups on the deadlift bar instead of HSPU. 2 athletes synchronized on 1 bar.

Nov/Teen/Youth teams do hand release push ups on the ground, 2 athlete synchronized. 

Scoring note: If a team does not complete in 12:00 the score will show as Cap + (remaining reps)

9:00 to find a max for each person of:

3 rep Hang Squat Clean Thruster (aka Cluster)

Notes: 

  • Bar cannot go below the knee once the reps have started
  • No rebend of the knees as the bar goes overhead (aka Jerk)

Dumbbell Burpees/cleans will include bringing the dumbbells up to shoulder height. Weights are:

Rx: 2x 50/35# Dumbbells
Masters: 2x 35/25# Dumbbells
Scaled: 2x 35/25# Dumbbells
Novice/Teens: 2x 20# Dumbbells
Youth: 2x 15# Dumbbells

Notes:

1. Pull up bands are available for Novice, Teen, and Youth divisions as needed

2. Leg Raise is a scaled Toes to bar where heels come above hips every rep. The combo is 1 rep.

Each person completes a 500m row for time, score is the sum of all three times.

  • Relay (one person at a time)
  •      20 Box Step Overs with 2 Dumbbells 
  •      60 Double Unders (or 180 singles)
