Event description

Our inaugural Barbells & BBQ is a 2 person partner (M/M , F/F) competition celebrating everything that make both summer and the functional fitness community so awesome! Push yourself in a fun and supportive atmosphere, eat some delicious BBQ, and celebrate a job well done with your peers!

This event is geared toward our Scaled Athletes (see our Divisions page of our website for Scaled standards and typical weights) and will have 3 main floor events. Of course, it wouldn't be Barbells & BBQ without the barbell - expect barbell movements in each of the main floor events! And good news for some, as this particular event will not include any rig work or the jump rope.

As a special treat, we'll be putting workout #1 into your hands! WOD #1 will be a quick sprint consisting of only two movements. We have paired together some fine combinations and it's up to you to vote! Since we're all about community, voting is open to athletes, family & friends, and the entire Complete Competition nation! Choose wisely - the movements not selected are likely to end up somewhere else!

CANCELLATION POLICY

Our cancellation policy is as follows:
Within 48 hours of registration: Full refund. This window is defined as starting with the timestamp of your registration submission and concluding precisely 48 hours later.
After 48 hours & prior to 30 days before: 75% refund. Once the 48 hour grace period has passed, teams can cancel up-to 30 days prior to the event and receive a 75% refund.
Within 30 days of the event: No refunds will be granted within 30 days of the event.

All refund requests must be submitted by email to : info@completecompetitions.com. Requests submitted in any other fashion will not be accepted.

TRANSFER POLICY

Registrations can be transferred to another person up-to two weeks prior to the event. Within two weeks of the event, no transfers will be accepted.

PHOTOGRAPHY POLICY

This event will be photographed by a staff photographer. By registering for this competition, you understand and give consent for Complete Competitions to photograph and/or video you and your teammate(s) during this event. You also agree to the use of these images for the publicity and marketing of Complete Competitions and its event sponsors. This includes, but is not limited to, websites, social media accounts, printed collateral, etc.

Although we will do our best to capture the event in its entirety, we cannot guarantee any specific photographs or that we will capture every competitor. Photographs from the event will be posted within approximately 1 week of the competition date. All posted photos will include watermarks from the company and any event sponsors. Once posted, images can be downloaded and used for personal use.

* RX teams must do box-jumps. Scaled. & Beg. divisions may choose do either movement

50 - Power Snatches

40 - Bar-Over Burpees

* RX teams must jump over the bar. Scaled & Beg. divisions may choose to jump or step-over the bar

30 - Overhead Squats

 

At 3, 2, 1, go… teams will begin biking. One partner will be working while the other rests. Once teams have reached 80 calories on the bike, they may begin working on the deadlifts. Teams will continue working their way down the movements until completion. Partners may switch as often as they would like throughout the workout. However, all of the reps for each movement must be completed before moving on to the next movement. For Scaled & Beginner divisions, teammates may select different standards for the Box Jumps/Step-Ups and Bar-Over Burpees.

9 KB Goblet Lunges

At 3,2,1, go...partner 1 will do 9 KB goblet lunges alternating between their legs.  Once partner 1 is done with the lunges, partner 2 will pick up the KB and do 9 american kettlebell swings.  When partner 2 is done with the KBS, partner 1 will pick up the barbell and do 9 thrusters. When the thrusters are done, partner 2 will begin the second round with 9 KB goblet lunges.  Partners will continue to complete a movement and switch to the next for the remainder of the 9 minutes.
