Event description

Once again the beautiful sandy beaches of Georgian Bay will supply the backdrop for another tough competition. In 2015 we saw over 1000 athletes take to the beach for our 4th annual BeachWOD where they lifted, carry, squat, climb, and balance their way through 4 fun and challenging workouts.

Wasaga Beach is one of Ontario’s premier summer vacation spots with over 14km of pristine sand. We plan on taking over the beach again for 3 days and turning it into the competition of the summer.

This event will be sure to test your fitness capacity. Working out in the sand adds an entirely new element to exercise. Running requires more technique and stamina. The unstable ground is constantly challenging your stability, and the water will feel refreshing when we send you out for a rinse.The freedom of competing on the sandy beach will inspire all athletes to push beyond their limits. Dig deeper than ever before, and find out what you’re made of.Bring your beach umbrella and lots of sunscreen for this event.This is the event of the summer, with a division for everyone, from the heavy hitters to the newbies, so decide on your division and get ready to crush some WOD’s at the beach.

Teams work in coed pairs to complete the following: Pair 1: 6 min True Form run (Alternating 1 minute sprints) Pair 2: 6min AMRAP 7 OHS & 3 Bar MU’s (In sync with partner) RX: 7 OHS (135/85) & 3 Bar MU’s Semi Pro: 7 OHS (95/65) & 3 PU’s Amateur: 7 FS (135/85) & 3 PU’s (2 burpee penalty for every PU not completed) Beginners: 7 FS (95/65) and 3 PU’s (2 burpee penalty for every PU not completed)
