Event description

  • The Granite Games Throwdown gives athletes new to competition an opportunity to challenge themselves and have a blast doing it!

Our 3-person, same gender team setup allows you to step out onto the competition floor with your best CrossFit buddies to experience the best of both worlds: all the fun of competition, without that nerve-wracking feeling of going it alone!

Scaled: For those who are new to competing, share a common goal of functional fitness, and are working toward mastering their skills.

Intermediate: The perfect fit for athletes who love the thrill of competition and have a passion for functional fitness, but who don’t typically Rx daily workouts and may not have yet mastered all movements.

To set you up for success when you arrive onsite, here’s what you need to know:

Check- In - All athletes must check in at the front desk inside the main entry door of the gym between 7am and 7:55am.

 

MANDATORY ATHLETE BRIEFING: 8AM SHARP!

Where Am I Going? – Our gym is a massive underground facility.  It is located under the front visitor parking lot at 401/405 The West Mall (Burnhamthorpe & 427).  While the gym can be accessed at ground level via a door in the front visitor parking lot (facing Burnhamthorpe), we would prefer all vehicles that fit in the garage to take advantage of our FREE underground parking and enter the gym through our level 'P5 South' entrance.  If you have any issues the day of the competition locating us, please call the gym phone line at (416) 546-2897.  

Parking – Free Underground Parking: The underground parking lot entrance is located on the east side of the building (Highway 427 side).  There are no gates, tickets or validations required.  Simply drive up to the entrance and drive on in, once the door opens.  Proceed down the ramps, turning right until you reach level P5.  Proceed down the centre aisle to the area marked P5 South.  Our entrance is located at P5 South, we have painted the walls around the entrance bright yellow.

Metered Surface Parking ($5/day): There are a limited number of parking spots in the surface level visitor parking lot located in front of 401/405 The West Mall.  The small entrance to the gym is located in that parking lot (separate from the towers). 

Come Prepared – You’ll need to provide a valid ID to complete check-in. You'll also want to bring a water bottle (we have a filtered fountain) and all of your gear.  

No Take-Backs – Life happens—we totally get that. But please be aware that if you cannot participate in the weekend’s events, we cannot offer a refund for any reason.

Trading Places – You can substitute an athlete up until registration closes on Saturday, January 5th.

Scoring: For Weight: Heavier is Better

Time Cap: 10 minutes

Score is total weight added from all 3 athletes
