Event description

Tribal Clash returns to Bantham Beach for the 7th instalment of UK's premier team competition. 

Tribal Clash is a competition for teams of 6 athletes, 3 men and 3 women. You don't need to have a full team at the time of booking, you can recruit your team members and sub team members all the way until team check in.

Spectators are invited to attend free of charge and do not require a ticket.

Dogs are welcome at Bantham, however dogs are not permitted on the beach where the competition arena is located.

Each athlete completes 3 x 100m hill sprints

Within a 10 minute time cap, teams complete a rescue board swim around a marked course then AMRAP synchro bar touch burpees (3 athletes working) in the remaining time.

Scoring: For Repetitions: More is Better

AMRAP up & overs in 5 minutes

All athletes must cross from one side of the bar to the other. A full round is completed each time all 6 athletes cross the bar.  

Assisted rep = 0 points

Unassisted rep = 1 point

4 bonus points if all athletes cross the beam.

Maximum points per round: 10


At 5 minutes, move on to:

AMRAP tyre STOH in 5 minutes.

Teams have 2 tyres - 3 athletes on each tyre. 

One tyre must remain locked out overhead while the rest of the team completes STOH reps with the other tyre. Each time the tyre comes down, the reps must stop. Athletes can switch between tyres as often as they wish but the tyre must return to floor each time.

Each team has a stack of 6 tyres, which they must unload, flip to the end of the lane and restack.

The team completes a team run with a sandworm around a marked course on the beach. The worm must be held on shoulders at all times. The time stops when the worm is back in its starting position

0 - 5 minutes in first box to complete 30 sandworm GTOH

5 - 10 minutes in second box to complete 18 rope climbs

10 - 15 minutes in third box to complete AMRAP atlas stone lifts. 

Athletes take it in turn to complete atlas stone reps - different points for each stone. 

3 stones for males, 3 stones for females - lightest stone = 1 point, middle stone = 2 points, heaviest stone = 6 points.

Teams have 3 atlas stones (52kg, 66kg, 78kg) which they must transport as far as possible in a 5 minute period. 

Teams split into 2 teams of 3 athletes. 

The period is split into 8 intervals - 2 x 60 seconds, 2 x 45 seconds, 2 x 30 seconds, 2 x 15 seconds. Trios take turns to work and switch when the claxon sounds.
