GET READY MASTERS ATHLETES...MASTERS OF THE DMV RETURNS ON 22 SEPTEMBER.   Kingstowne will be hosting its 2nd annual Masters of the DMV Team competition on 22 September.  This event is a one-day team competition strictly for Masters athletes, and will feature three age divisions for athletes 30-39, 40-49, and 50+. This is not a scaled competition for older athletes.  This event has been designed to showcase the abilities of Masters athletes in the DMV area. Teams can be comprised of either two men (male/male) or two females (female/female). If you joined us last year you already know this event is different from any other Masters competition in the area. For this event you won’t walk away with just a medal, top finishers will receive some pretty sweet prizes to include cash prizes for our first place teams.  

REGISTRATION: 
Cost: $190 per team (processing fee not included).  
Registration will go live on 6 July 2018.  


AGE DIVISIONS:  
30-39 M/M or F/F
40-49 M/M or F/F 
50+ M/M or F/F  

 
If teams are comprised of athletes in different age categories (e.g. one athlete is 36 and one is 42) then the team must compete in the younger team members age division.  Using this example the team would register for the 30-39 division.  Athletes will be required to present their IDs upon check-in to ensure a fair competition.

WORKOUT STANDARDS: 
Clean and Jerk: 155/105 (30-39); 135/95 (40-49); 115/80 (50+) 
Snatch: 135/95 (30-39); 115/75 (40-49); 95/65 (50+)
Deadlift 275/185 (30-39); 225/155 (40-49); 185/135 (50+)
Double Unders 
Chest to Bar Pull Ups (30-39; 40-49; Pull Ups (50+) 
T2B: 30-39; 40-49; 50+ KTE

These are just examples of working weights and minimum movement standards. For the finals, the top five teams in each division will earn a spot in the final workout and should expect to see some higher skill movements such as HSPU, Ring Dips, and Bar Muscle Ups (30-39 division).

PRIZES:  
The top three teams in each division will receive some amazing prizes from our awesome sponsors. Additionally the first place team in each division will receive a cash prize. All teams will receive a t-shirt and a swag bag with goodies from our sponsors to include samples, coupons, etc.  
 
REFUND POLICY:  
No refunds will be provided after registration.  Teams will be able to transfer tickets if necessary, however please note that we will not be able to accommodate t-shirt size changes after the t-shirt deadline has passed.   
 
T-SHIRT:  All athletes and Volunteers will receive an event t-shirt or tank as long as they register before the order deadline.  Men's t-shirts run true to size.  However the women's tanks tend to run much larger. Athletes should consider ordering a size smaller for a better fit.  
 
PARKING: 
Athletes are requested to park on South Pickett street or in the Cameron Station neighborhood.  Additional parking is available at the Van Dorn Metro Station and the Giant Shopping Plaza.  A parking volunteer will be on site to ensure that parking is available for other merchants and customers within the shopping plaza and to ensure there is no double parking.  Athletes are encouraged to bring tents and chairs to set up in the alley behind our facility.

Partner 1 has 6 Minutes to complete: 

100 DUs
20/15 Calories on the Assualt Bike
12 Squat Clean
Max Burpees over the Bar (Lateral)

At the 6 Minute mark Athlete 1 tags in Athlete 2 who completes:

100 DUs
20/15 Calories on Assault Bike
12 Squat Snatch
Max Burpees over the Bar (Lateral)

Score is total number of burpees. Tie break (if needed) is fastest time at completion of Partner 1s Assault Bike Calories.

30-39:  135/85
40-49:  115/75
50+:     95/65

Scoring: For Time: Fastest is Better | Time Cap: 10

Both Partners must be moving at the same time for all three movements.

DL- both athletes must be standing with the bar at full extension at the same time for rep to count.

Clean- both athletes must catch and stand at the same time before starting the next rep.

Jerk-  both athletes must meet at the top of the overhead movement before the rep to count.

Scoring: For Repetitions: More is Better

AMRAP:  9 Minutes
20 D-Ball GTS (30-39/40-49: 100/70; 50+: 70/50)
15 C2B Pull Ups (40-49; 50+: Pull Ups)
10 Devils Press (30-39/40-49: 45/25; 50+: 35/20)

1 Partner working at a time. Score is total round and reps. 

Ground to Shoulder:  D-Ball must pass over the shoulder for rep to count.

Pullups: Chin must break the horizontal plane at the top and arms must be fully extended at the bottom position.
Chest to bar: Chest must make contact with the bar below collarbone and arms must be fully extended in bottom position.

Devil's Press: Chest must touch dumbells at the bottom of the burpee. Then dumbbells must go from ground to an overhead movement in one continuous swing.
